Middle of Nowhere

Dave and I took a long, 2+ hour, bike ride on Sunday out to the tiny town of Hartford, Ohio. Or as it is better known, Croton. Even though we were supposed to be training, I would yell to Dave, “Stop! I need a picture!” Dave was very patient with me, even crashing his bike for my art.

I have had an amazing opportunity become available and I’m so excited (read: scared out of my mind!)! I can’t give any details, but it all sounds amazing!
And because you can’t have a photography blog without a picture….I call this “Venice, In All Her Glory.”

My sister and her family only live a few miles away currently. I am lucky I get to see my niece and nephews often. They also love having their pictures taken, as evidenced below. I could have posted hundreds of pictures; they were all that good. But, these are a few of my favorites.
And possibly my favorite picture EVER…
Fields of Gold

I’m starting a new project. The project will be called “Two-Wheeled Travels.” During my long triathlon training, I am carrying my camera with me on my bike. It’s amazing what beauty can be found in the world when experienced on two wheels.
I took this traveling east on Fancher Road in Westerville.
My Birthday Celebration

My 30th birthday was a few weeks ago and last Friday I threw a big party. For the venue I rented out Grove City Lanes, a small bowling alley on the south side of Columbus that I found on Craig’s List. Craig’s List is awesome! For three hours my friends and I had unlimited bowling, a cash bar, food, and billiards.
And did I mention the Photo Booth?
My friends created great memories in the booth and put them in a guest book as a memento for me. What a great birthday present and a wonderful idea for other parties like wedding receptions (send me an e-mail if you’re interested–info@vipphotobooths.com).
Here’s a small collection of some of my favorite pictures.
Wedding Photography for Less

During one of the seventeen billion hits I make to MSNBC each day, today I read this article, which simply states that even the wedding industry is being hard hit by the economy.
When I got married 5-1/2 years ago I paid between $6000-$7000 for my entire wedding. Because photography was the most important item, in my opinion, we shelled out the most amount of money here at $2500. The same photographer that we used now starts her packages at $4000.
Everyone’s got to start somewhere, right? Currently I am building my portfolio as a wedding photographer. Right now I am scheduled for a wedding reception later this month, second shooting for a wedding in August, and shooting a full wedding and reception in September.
If you are interested in saving money, but still getting high quality photography, and you are willing to help me build my portfolio, then send me an e-mail, meredith@meredithgordon.com. My wedding packages start at $500.
